Lab Sampling Technician-Study Tech position in our Greenfield IN location is responsible for the timely and accurate receipt, processing and storage of laboratory samples in compliance with GLP guidelines, study protocols and standard operating procedure, as well as managing the inventory of biological samples, duties include but not limited to;
Receives and accession incoming samples, learns how to interpret a protocol
Processes and packages biological samples for shipment to client ensuring completion of all required documentation for shipment.
Records and documents on the appropriate data collection system
Compiles required documentation and package biological samples for shipping
Performs commonly used clinical sampling techniques such as pipette.
Learns how to process and package biological samples for shipment to client.
Handle all details required for shipment of samples (receiving, storage, inventory and verification) using Study protocol and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintains well documented laboratory records according to GLPs. Reviews own data and identifies potential problems.
Daytime work hours, typically requires working every 3rd weekend and some holidays, OT may be required.
Starting pay rate $22.00 excellent benefits package includes: 24 days of personal time off, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with a generous company match and of course medical and dental insurance.
Education/Qualifications/Skills
Associate degree Veterinary Technology or related field OR bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences such as Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, Wildlife Studies or related field OR 2 of college courses in Life Science and 1+ years of full time Lab work
Prior experience pipetting highly preferred but not required
Must be detail oriented and have general familiarity with lab procedures.
Good verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information.
Good computer keyboarding skills
Comfortable within working in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals.
Ability to perform commonly used clinical sampling techniques, AALAS certification at Laboratory Animal Technician level desirable, but not required. Extensive training provided!
