Sanitation Associate
**Job Title: Sanitation Associate** **Job Description** Looking for Sanitation Associates who can help maintain the integrity of product safety and quality in a food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining an elevated level of cleanliness and sanitation. The shift is from 2PM to 10:30PM, Monday to Friday. **Responsibilities** + Maintain work area and equipment to ensure clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions. + Perform general industrial cleaning in production areas. + Operate cleaning equipment to maintain floors throughout the building and production areas. + Ensure there are no spills or raw materials residue on floors. + Empty all waste containers and replace bags. + Clean and disinfect washrooms, locker rooms, and lunchrooms. + Wash and dust walls, equipment, tanks, ceiling light fixtures, and ceiling vents to remove dirt, spilled ingredients, grease, oil, or any other foreign matter. + Report any defective materials, spills, or issues that will take longer than normal to clean. + Occasionally fill pails for production or assist in other production utility operator activities. + Perform other duties as requested, assigned, or directed. **Essential Skills** + Experience in production, food manufacturing, machine operation, sanitation, and janitorial work. + Knowledge of GMP, industrial cleaning, and chemical handling. + At least one year of experience in industrial sanitation or janitorial work. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to stand, walk for prolonged periods of time, and climb stairs. + Regularly required to bend, stoop, and reach. + Ability to lift more than 50 lbs. on an occasional basis. + Experience working in a food manufacturing production environment, exposed to noise and temperature variations. + Must wear uniform, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, and safety gear specific to work activity when on the plant floor. + Pacemaker not permitted around magnets. **Why Work Here?** Employees can purchase wholesale chocolate at a discount, including a 10-pound chocolate bar for $24. There is potential to move into other production positions or group lead roles. **Work Environment** Work in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and temperature variations (hot and cold). The facility has a hot side for manufacturing operations and a cold side for chocolate cooling/packaging operations. Compliance with all legislated and relevant laws and regulations for safety and quality, including GMP, HACCP, and Allergen policies, is mandatory.
