Sanitation Superintendent

Job Summary: 

\n

The Sanitation Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the Sanitation department and managing Sanitation Supervisors in a multi-shift environment.  The role is responsible for directly leading and managing the Sanitation team and partnering across departments to effectively and safely ensure the cleaning and sanitizing of food production lines and non-food handling areas of the facility.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities: 

\n

·       Ensure that the plant is cleaned daily and ready to start production on time.

\n

·       Maintain a safe work environment by properly implementing the IIPP (Injury Illness Prevention Programs).

\n

·       Ensure that the company food safety guidelines are implemented daily.

\n

·       Maintain good communication with subordinates, peers and other members of management.

\n

·       Development and Training of supervisors, leads, and sanitation workers and set safety goals for the sanitation team.

\n

·       Participate in audits, facility inspections and coordinate pre-operational inspection with QA Management.

\n

·       Set clear development plan and performance targets for Sanitation Supervisor(s), discuss progress against plan on a weekly basis, and deliver performance reviews.

\n

·       As necessary, resolve personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action while treating employees with respect through the process.

\n

·       Help develop effective people management skills of all Sanitation Supervisor(s) and leads.

\n\nResponsible for managing sanitation indirect labor on a weekly basis, including but not limited to scheduling to meet labor KPIs and making adjustments as needed to ensure compliance.\nProvide shift level labor targets to Sanitation Supervisor(s) and provide feedback to Sanitation Supervisor(s) on labor performance from previous day.\nOwn communication of weekly Sanitation KPIs (labor efficiency and sanitation compliance) to department manager and ensures relevant KPIs are being appropriately communicated to supervisors leads, and sanitation workers.\n\n\nDevelop and oversee all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)\nResponsible for executing the Sanitation Programs through leading core Sanitation functions including master sanitation schedule, chemical control, and inventory.\nEnsures all sanitation employees are utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment and are operating safely.\nEnsure all necessary documentation for Sanitation and incident reporting is completed.\nPartner with site FSQA Manager and the Food Safety and Quality Program Manager on development, implementation and training for new Sanitation procedures and applications.\nPartners with FSQA leadership team, Operations, Maintenance and other key stakeholders to implement changes, new process or new products in a safe manner and implement sanitation procedures.\n\n

Education & Experience:   

\n

 

\n

·       Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology Biology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

\n

·       5 to 7 years of food manufacturing experience, with at least five years in food sanitation.

\n

·       Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

\n

·       Knowledge of the GMP, HACCP and Environmental sanitation program is preferred.

\n
