Job Description:The Wegmans Bakeshop is a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility that produces quality breads and baked goods to stock our stores. As a Sanitation Supervisor at the Bakeshop you will oversee the day-to-day sanitation operations of the facility and cleanliness of the equipment, ensuring that food and human safety guidelines are being met, as well as standards of product quality and operational efficiency. You will provide guidance, support, and training to your sanitation team members, leading by example to uphold Wegmans high standards.
What will I do?
Manage and develop team of employees, engage in meaningful conversations, build trusted relationships and provide the resources, feedback, and development opportunities they need to be successfulPartner with Department Managers to develop tactical plans, implement best practices, and find ways to continuously improve proceduresEnsure compliance with regulations (SQF, HACCP, OSHA, HAZCOM, LOTO and SSOP’s), proper use of equipment, food & human safety, simplification, and company policies & proceduresDemonstrate and ensure Good Manufacturing Practices and exercise due diligence in protecting our productsIdentify critical situations, escalate to appropriate stakeholders, and partner with Department Managers to find solutionsPerform essential tasks for department operations, including ordering, scheduling, managing payroll, delegating tasks, and empowering team members to take on new challengesEnsure tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently, proactively responding to ad hoc requests with urgencyCommunicate and execute sanitation schedules within the agreed-upon timeframes to support daily production needsComplete audits and documentation to ensure equipment is cleaned, sanitized, assembled and disassembled according to regulations and Good Manufacturing PracticesCommunicate and interact with various support teams as a subject matter expertRequired Qualifications:
2 or more years’ experience leading a teamExperience with Food SafetyComputer skills, Microsoft Office skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience managing a team in a food manufacturing environmentExperience with manufacturing systems, processes and/or regulationsBilingual skills
