McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Sanitation Supervisor position at the Carberry, MB plant. Reporting to the Sanitation Manager. The Sanitation Supervisor oversees and coordinates sanitation activities to ensure the production facility meets all regulatory, safety, and company standards for cleanliness and hygiene. The role includes managing a sanitation team, implementing cleaning protocols, and collaborating with other departments to maintain high standards of food safety and quality
Accountabilities:
Lead, train, and supervise the day and shift sanitation team.Develop work schedules to ensure effective cleaning of the facility and equipment.Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.Implement and maintain cleaning and sanitation procedures that comply with company standards.Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.Monitor and verify the effectiveness of sanitation processes through inspections.Lead the MSS program within the facility and identify periodic improvements to enhance cleaning processes throughout the facility.Provide guidance and support to other leaders and Employees, ensuring they are equipped to manage daily sanitation operations effectively.Oversee the organization of all cleanup activities, sanitation audits, and pre-operational checks and paperwork completion.Track supply usage and ensure timely ordering of sanitation materials.Assist the Sanitation Manager in managing and maintaining sanitation budgets.Work with sanitation Manger in Managing the Pest Control program.Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and internal quality standards (SQCDME framework).Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, audits, and inspections.Address non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.Analyze data and reports to identify trends and areas for improvement in sanitation operationsServe as a member of the plant HACCP team and actively participate in all facility audits.Actively lead the MDI initiatives for sanitation Modules (MP& S meetings, daily huddle, DDS).Work closely with production, quality assurance, maintenance and global to ensure sanitation activities align with production schedules.Participate in safety and quality meetings to address concerns and improve practices.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in food science, sanitation management, or related field is preferred.Basic understanding of MicrobiologyMinimum 1-3 years of experience in sanitation/Quality/process department in the food processing industry.Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.Good understanding of HACCP/GMP
Skills:
Strong understanding of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs.Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Proficiency with computer systems for record-keeping and reporting (Clean-up Gantt Charts)Self-motivated individual capable of leading new initiatives with little direct supervisionSkilled in working effectively within a unionized environment.Capable of fostering teamwork and promoting strong GMP practices across the facility.Commitment to staying up to date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes.
