Cleaning and sanitizing all processing equipment, floors, walls, pipes, drain, grounds, etc. Lead and train new employees, issue, monitor and report inventory of both Chemicals and PPE’s.
Responsibilities Primary Accountabilities:Responsible to comply with all Quality and Food Safety Management standards and/or systems to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of the Food Safety Management System with the ability to satisfy our customers and provide products that are in accordance to their intended use and safe for human consumption.Wash down and sanitize all processing equipment, floors, walls, pipes, drains, grounds, etc.Use cleaning chemicals, i.e. chlorine, lye, and detergents.Immediately report any accidents to Area Supervisor or Supervisor.Immediately report any malfunctions of processing equipment to Area Supervisor or Supervisor.Report any safety hazard to Area Supervisor or Supervisor. Supervise employees in their areas of responsibility on the lineBe responsible for operation of line and area when assignedBe sure all employees go on break and return at the proper timeTrain, assign employees to work area and evaluate employee, give feedback to Sanitation Manager on employee progressIssue, maintain inventory and track off PEE’sMust monitor Cleaning Chemicals for proper inventoryMust work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlinesMust, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers, supervisor and managementFollow company policiesFollow safety proceduresOther duties that are reasonable associated with the above essential functions of the jobAssist Manager / Area Supervisor with chemical documentationAssist Area Supervisor when task arise for supportMust be able to speak, read and write both English and Spanish Qualifications Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:Must be able to effectively lead othersMust be able to accept and give ordersMust be able to teach and train employees in their assigned jobsEducation & Certification:High School Diploma or Equivalent PreferredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Must have dexterity to be able to hold a high pressure hose (750-1000 psi) for long periods.Must be able to work with chemicals.Must be able to wear respirator (if needed). Required to pass Respirator Fitness Test.Requires climbing, standing, stooping, twisting, lifting and other physical movements to perform job.Must be able to bend or squat low enough to go under conveyor belts.Work Environment:Wet environment. May work indoors or outdoors at times. Will work in tight, confined areas with caustic chemicals such as chlorine, lye and caustic detergents and with dangerous and sharp equipment. Work areas may be slippery and/or icy. May work in IQF with temperatures of 30 degrees to 45 degrees.Travel Requirements:NoneSupervisory Duties:
Number of employees may vary from 5 to 50. Supervises Sanitation Workers
