Major Responsibilities: Demonstrates the ability to ensure the quality and cleanliness of food service equipment on a daily basis     1)Clean and santitize all “heavy duty” equipment and stainless steel work areas according to the Daily and Weekly assignment book     2)Details floors in department by using machine     3)Delime steamers and dishmachine. Maintains fyers in kitchen and retail area     4)Check and clean all walls for food splatter     5)Clean hoods/vents, doors, light fixtures, air vents, and glass in department     6)Cleans the cooks ovens, cookie oven, grill and stove     7)Knows what chemical is appropriate for each task and demonstrates proper use of chemicals     8)Reports any malfunction or damage of equipment to Supervisor/Manager.     9)Requisitions items needed to perform tasks     10)Removes garbage, recycables and cardboard from department and other duties as assigned Keeps communication lines open with supervisor and keeps up to date with department changes.     1)Carries a department phone while on duty for easy access communication.     2)Reads the Huddle-Up book daily to keep abreast of any changes that have been documented     3)Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Required:• Ability to communicate basic factual information and direction as normally acquired by completing elementary school. • Preferred experience in a food service setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:• Ability to operate dishmachine, fryer filter system, steam jacketed kettles, hoses, brooms, and other large kitchen equipment and cleaning pads, scrubbers, etc. • Ability to transport heavy objects (up to 75lbs). N/A

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions: • Transporting of heavy objects (up to 75lbs). • Cleaning and scrubbing areas close to floors and close to ceilings. • Indoor environment where there is noise, fumes, heat and other distractions. • Hazardous wet floors and cleaning agents. • Utilizing and operating large kitchen equipment. • Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care of first aid. This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
