Sanitation Technician

Job Description

This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of the maintenance of buildings, facilities, and grounds. You will be responsible for various cleaning duties, building maintenance work, and related tasks as assigned.

Pay Rate

$18/hour

ResponsibilitiesSweep and mop floors, clean windows, restrooms, and fixtures; maintain lunch and break rooms.Strip and wax tiled floors as required; vacuum, buff, and wax floors.Replace light bulbs as needed.Clean offices, including dusting desks and other areas.Dispose of trash and operate trash compactor; dispose of cardboard and operate cardboard bailer.Assist in moving furniture as required or requested.Perform external facility work as required or requested, including lawn work and snow removal. Ensure sidewalks are kept clear and snow melt is placed along the walkways to keep it safe for anyone entering or leaving the building.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitudeExperience in a production environment, ideally in a light-industrial settingMulti-tasking abilitiesAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDExperience in a manufacturing or hospital environment is a plusWhy Work Here?

Our Client is a growing company recently purchased by Merck Pharmaceuticals, which is investing close to $40 million dollars in upgrades, new construction, and expansion projects. They hold a 15-year patent on a pharmaceutical product currently being produced, with 14 years remaining. Our Client is looking to invest in employees interested in long-term career growth.

Work Environment

You will be working in a highly regulated FDA environment within a pharmaceutical manufacturing lab. You will be exposed to moving parts and work in a 'Clean Room' that is well-lit, temperature and humidity controlled, with no windows. You will be fully gowned from head to toe, including wearing a hair net, beard net (if necessary), safety glasses, lab suit, gloves, and booties. The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 2:30 pm, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, New York.
