**Job Title: Sanitation Technician (EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)**
**Job Description**
The Sanitation Technician will often work independently throughout the entire plant. This person will need to be prepared to complete a daily rotation checklist of basic cleaning tasks. They will perform various activities to maintain the plant, including buildings, equipment, and grounds, in an orderly and clean condition. They will also understand their role in the Food Safety Management System and report any food safety and quality problems to authorized personnel.
**Responsibilities**
+ Clean all drains inside the production area.
+ Work at heights and in confined spaces.
+ Clean, sweep, and wash flour accumulation on stairways and balconies inside production areas.
+ Clean and maintain the flour silo area.
+ Set up equipment for tasks involving sanitizers and other cleaning products.
+ Vacuum inside the mill structures and packing buildings.
+ Pressure wash internal and external production areas.
+ Complete work records for various jobs.
+ Perform light maintenance duties such as sanding, painting, and grinding.
+ Clean and sanitize interior drains by rinsing, scrubbing, and flushing with sanitizer.
+ Assist the mill in cleaning production equipment during shutdowns, sanitizing, and scheduled cleaning procedures.
+ Handle chemicals and equipment responsibly, following PPE, SDS, storing, transporting, and handling protocols.
+ Practice good GMPs, including good hygiene, housekeeping, and preventing cross-contamination.
+ Miscellaneous duties according to the position.
+ Attendance is an essential function of this position.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to follow simple written instructions.
+ Ability to read, write, and speak English.
+ Reliable transportation to and from work.
+ Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 80 ft silos).
+ Basic hand tools and light maintenance skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience (REQUIRED).
+ Prior manufacturing experience (REQUIRED).
+ Forklift experience (optional).
+ High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather. There is also exposure to constant or intermittent sounds sufficient to require hearing protection and constant or intermittent dusty areas due to the flour. Cell phones are not allowed on the production floor and must be left in a locker or vehicle. The position is contract-to-hire with eligibility to go direct after 640 hours, given an internal opening. Day shift hours are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to work overtime and occasional Saturday work for 3-5 hours (approximately once a month). The attire required includes a purple hard hat (provided), clean jeans or work pants, a t-shirt (no sleeveless), no holes, tears, rips, offensive language or graphics, no buttons on the shirt or anything that can damage the product, steel toe boots, and a belt.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of EVANSVILLE, Indiana.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.96 - $23.96/hr.
