Job Title: Sanitation Worker

Job Description

We are currently hiring within our sanitation department for a variety of shifts. Employees will be responsible for cleaning machinery, disassembling and reassembling certain parts of the machines to meet necessary standards. A mechanical aptitude is needed, and lock out tag out experience is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has previous experience in this type of work or a strong mechanical aptitude. Candidates must also be comfortable with heights/ladders and using cleaning products/chemicals, some of which have strong odors.

ResponsibilitiesSanitize and clean production areas inside, out, underneath, and at heights using chemicals and cleaning tools while wearing all appropriate PPEs in warm, moist environments.Evaluate sanitation effectiveness with visual inspection and chemical concentration checks for program compliance.Complete pre-operational inspections of equipment and document findings.Properly, accurately, and timely complete all sanitation tasks and understand Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), chemical labels, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).Contribute to incident investigations including safety, food safety incidents, pest sightings, contaminations, allergen cross-contact, non-conformances, complaints, and audit findings.Prepare production equipment for cleaning by following proper Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.Disassemble, clean, and sanitize all food-processing equipment including storage areas, handle line clean-ups, and document clean-ups.Adhere to and practice all rules of Absolute Safety including safety, food safety, LOTO, and GMPs.Work in a non-climate-controlled (hot) environment.Coordinate supplies, equipment, and contractor support for plant sanitation and pest control.Ensure safety for themselves and others by checking areas of the line where others are working before starting equipment.Clean all equipment entering the washroom by written procedure, dismantle, protect electrical components, clean effectively, and reassemble with all guards, bolts, and parts safely replaced.Possess comprehensive knowledge of all dry-cleaning procedures.Operate all applicable classes of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) with proper training and maintain valid certification.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working in a GMP environment which requires wearing hair and beard nets as well as other GMP practices. The environment is warm and moist, and employees must be comfortable with heights/ladders and using cleaning products/chemicals, some of which have strong odors. Shifts available: First Shift (Sun-Thurs, 7 AM to 3 PM), Third Shift (Sun-Thurs, 11 PM to 7 AM), Weekend Shift Days (Fri/Sat/Sun, 7 AM to 7 PM).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.40 - $20.36
