**Now Hiring Sanitation Worker in York, PA** 3rd Shift: Sun-Thu 11p-7a Pay: $18.40/hr **Job Description** As a sanitation worker, you will be responsible for cleaning machinery and disassembling/reassembling parts to achieve necessary cleanliness standards. A mechanical aptitude is essential, and lock out tag out experience is highly preferred. Ideal candidates will have experience in this type of work, but we are also open to considering machine operators and sanitation candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude. You must be comfortable with heights/ladders for cleaning conveyors and using cleaning products/chemicals, some of which have strong odors. **Responsibilities** + Sanitize and clean production areas inside, out, underneath, and at heights using chemicals and cleaning tools while wearing appropriate PPE in warm, moist environments. + Evaluate sanitation effectiveness through visual inspection and chemical concentration checks for compliance. + Complete pre-operational inspections of equipment and document findings. + Accurately and timely complete all sanitation documentation and understand the master sanitation schedule (MSS), sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs), chemical labels, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). + Contribute to incident investigations including safety, food safety incidents, pest sightings, contaminations, allergen cross-contact, non-conformances, complaints, and audit findings. + Prepare production equipment for cleaning by following proper lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures. + Disassemble, clean, and sanitize all food-processing equipment, including storage areas, handle line clean-ups and document clean-ups. + Monitor inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies. + Maintain plant cleanliness in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety standards. + Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including safety, food safety, LOTO, GMPs, etc. + Coordinate supplies, equipment, and contractor support for plant sanitation and pest control. + Log and record daily chemical usage. + Train employees in sanitation and related procedures and programs. + Work well with others and foster a team atmosphere. + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times. + Ensure safety for self and others by checking areas of the line where others are working before starting equipment. + Clean all equipment entering the washroom by dismantling, cleaning effectively, and reassembling with all guards, bolts, and parts safely replaced. + Possess comprehensive knowledge of all dry-cleaning procedures. + Use all applicable classes of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) with proper training and maintain valid certification. + Perform simple mathematical calculations. + Work independently and notify supervision of any issues. + Perform all other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical aptitude + Lock out tag out experience + GMP knowledge + Sanitation and cleaning experience + Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled (hot) environment + Understanding of Food Safety standards + Ability to use Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and maintain certification **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with cleaning machinery and disassembling/reassembling parts + Comfortable with heights/ladders + Familiarity with cleaning products/chemicals + Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations + Strong attention to safety **Work Environment** Work in a GMP environment that requires hair and beard nets as well as other GMP practices. The environment can be warm and moist, and you must be comfortable working with chemicals and cleaning products, some of which have strong odors. Shifts available include third shift (Sun-Thurs, 11 PM to 7 AM) and weekend shifts (12 hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.40 - $20.36 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
