Sanitation Worker I (GA,TX)

Summary of the Position:

The Sanitation Worker I works as a member of the sanitation team to clean general plant area, equipment and helps in the removal of refuse.

 

Functions of the Position:

% of Time Essential (E) or Marginal (M) Functions Performed

50% E Works as a member of the sanitation team to clean general plant area, equipment, and helps in the removal a refuse, using the following tools: broom, brushes, sprays bottles, mop and ringer, squeegee, water gun, air gun and vacuum. Works safely and is aware of surroundings at all times.

30% E Trains on and performs 7 steps of dry sanitation and/ or 7 steps of wet cleaning to perform routine cleaning on assigned equipment - including assembly and disassembly of assigned equipment

15% E Completes required training courses, reads and signs off on required SSOPS and paperwork, works with other sanitation staff to learn to perform sanitation across facility

5% E Maintains work area and ensures area is clean before leaving for the day.

Continually · Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements. · Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality. · Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management. · Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.

· Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development. · Can explain and demonstrates proper use of Lock Out Tag Out procedures. · Can explain and demonstrates proper use of PPE in sanitation. · All other duties assigned by management

Qualifications:

 

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

· Previous sanitation experience a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

· Basic math skills required.

· Must have good manual dexterity and vision.

 

Job Specific Requirements:

This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.

 

In the event that the Sanitation Worker I is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
