Business Systems Analyst - US1
Job Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is part of the System Engineering team who is a technical SME of the equipment asset management module in SAP system and the processes that govern overall equipment lifecycle management. On top of supporting day to day processes on EAM which directly affect manufacturing operations, this individual will be responsible for seeing through system/process changes where gaps are identified which result in significant cost savings/avoidance and/or enhanced customer experience. The working environment is one that is fast-paced, dynamic involving interactions with multiple stakeholders / business units.
Responsibilities:
Work with internal business teams to understand their processes pertaining to equipment lifecycle and meet the needs efficiently and at scale by using SAP EAM system primarily
Investigate and resolve real time system application issues which can be time / mission (affecting production) critical, engaging additional technical or functional resources as necessary
Collaborate with GIS and business teams to design application solutions by analyzing functional requirements, studying and creatively leveraging standard SAP capabilities, proposing configuration specifications, and configuring application
Collaborate with Analytics team as necessary to create data pipelines and visualization reports relating to equipment metrics
Plan, coordinate, execute, and document system functionalities / processes relating to equipment lifecycle. This would involve creating process maps, system workflows, drafting Work Instructions / Job Aids / Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) / Playbooks
Actively work to understand EAM linkages with other SAP modules (e.g. material management, production planning, finance) and manufacturing software (e.g. Camstar, LIMS), to propose changes and appreciate impact related to EAM integration
Lead cross-functional team members in the implementation of strategic projects and enhancements from requirements gathering through deployment and post-production support
Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of proposed system enhancements with an eye to finding gaps and proposing UAT scenarios to be tested
Assess change impacts prior to change deployment
Maintain active communication / present to stakeholders regarding changes to the system and the introduction of new and enhanced functionality and manage expectations
Analyze problems, diagnose them and find root cause, and then either create a fix or partner with a team to collaboratively design a solution
Draft systems training materials and provide training to end users
Perform routine data steward tasks in SAP EAM
Maintain and ensure integrity of MMS/CMS master data, driving data remediation, if necessary, efforts to completion
Propose continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives
Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve data inconsistencies
Assist in data collection and feedback on system performance and functionality
Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
Provide management team with any metrics, reports, discrepancies, and escalations
Create and drive drafting of business cases for ALM GBP
Collaboration with regional and global teams and ALM GBP projects/initiatives
Support audits by extracting relevant equipment related information and perform basic tasks in internal quality systems
Acquires and maintains a clear understanding of the technologies utilized in Illumina’s processes

Requirements:
Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent work experience. Masters’ Degree would be advantageous.
3 years of relevant experience
SAP EAM Experience
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
Experience with project/task management systems (Asana, Confluence, JIRA)
Experience with database querying (SQL) and data visualizations tools (Tableau) would be desirable.
Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Experience in a customer centric environment
Strong analytical skills, able to map processes and propose continuous improvement initiatives
Detail oriented, accurate with a focus on quality when interacting with EAM system
Problem solving skills paired with ability to be proactive and foresee next steps
Willingness to complete a broad range of administrative responsibilities ranging from entry to senior level
Confidence to take delegated tasks and ask questions for clarification
Work experience in Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical / Medical Devices industries / clinically regulated environment would be advantageous.
The estimated base salary range for the SAP, Business Systems Analyst role based in the United States of America is: $73,400 - $110,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
