Job Description
An SAP Enterprise Architect is a senior-level IT professional responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of AbbVie's complex SAP solutions. The SAP Enterprise Architect will lead a forward-thinking technical vision, partnering with functional AbbVie leads in the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) organization to ensure alignment with key business objectives. Through collaboration with various stakeholders, the SAP Enterprise Architect is able to guide teams through a scalable and efficient SAP Architecture that enables business objectives while also adhering to best practices, industry trends, and standards within the SAP ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Define the overall SAP architecture roadmap & vision, considering future business needs, technology trends, and integration with other AbbVie connected systems. Partner with functional BTS leads and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into a forward thinking SAP strategy that extends across multiple functions.Lead the design and development of comprehensive SAP solutions, including data models, workflows, interfaces, and system configurations. Monitor industry security trends and ensure architectural roadmap supports remediation of vulnerabilities. Evaluate and manage relationships with SAP vendors and partners. Assess emerging technologies and partner with functional leads to design implementation roadmaps from proof of concept to full implementation.Provide technical guidance to the SAP implementation teams, including developers, consultants, and testers, on best practices and standards.Ensure seamless integration between different SAP modules and external systems, managing data flows and interfaces. Review periodic assessments & analyses to assess system performance, capability utilization, and optimization opportunities and incorporate remediation strategies to maintain efficiency. Identify potential risks associated with the SAP implementation and develop mitigation strategies. Collaborate with change management teams to ensure smooth transition and user adoption of new SAP functionalities. Review and approve technical designs, ensuring compliance with quality standards and project requirements. Evaluate and manage relationships with SAP vendors and partners.Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of Industry & SAP experience, with a focus across various SAP modules.Bachelor's degree + 10 years’ experience, Master’s Degree + 9 years’ experience or PhD with 5 years’ experience in computer science or related field.Experience leading large-scale, complex SAP Transformations (Ex: Upgrades, Migrations, Implementations, etc.)Strong proficiency in Java, ABAP, and other SAP-relevant development technology experience.Proven experience as an SAP functional architectDemonstrated strong partnership & collaboration skills managing internal & external stakeholders.Demonstrated high level of business understanding & financial acumen.Proven experience presenting & communicating (both written & verbal) with Sr/Executive Leadership.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
