Role: SAP FICO Asset Accounting Senior ConsultantJob Level: Manager
Location: Houston, TX. Work from home.
Duration: Full Time only - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
This position demands a robust understanding of general accounting and asset accounting principles. The qualified applicants will have meaningful experience in asset-intensive industries such as Energy, Utilities, and Rail; proficiency in solutions like SAP FICO, SAP FI-AA, and/or Power Plan Asset Accounting is crucial.
The ideal candidate must exhibit excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and team members. In this customer-facing role, the candidate will be responsible for delivering end-to-end Asset Accounting projects, from initial workshops to post debut support.
Roles and responsibilities: Collaborate with the Project Manager on critical aspects such as project scheduling. Facilitate workshops to capture and analyze requirements. Provide mentorship to clients on standard methodologies and promote the adoption of innovative solutions. Document detailed requirements and specifications. Configure the system to meet client needs. Work independently with developers to develop RICEFW objects. Direct resources and peers, providing daily guidance, leading, and facilitating workshops. Develop and finalize results, including business process design documents, configuration guides, functional specifications, technical specifications, and test use cases. Be responsible for all phases of system testing to ensure quality and functionality. Provide comprehensive training to clients on system usage. Required Qualifications:A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
A minimum of five years of experience in asset accounting.
Proficiency in asset accounting software, either SAP FI-AA or PowerPlan is required. Knowledge of SAP FICO and/or SAP capital cost flow is preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to fixed assets, depreciation, and financial reporting.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present sophisticated financial data.
Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to optimally connect with all levels of the organization.
Work collaboratively with various departments and build strong working relationships.
Preferred AttributesA proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with a continuous improvement demeanour.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work optimally in a fast-paced environment.
Potential to tackle leadership roles and mentor junior staff.
Experience managing projects or initiatives related to asset accounting or finance.
Working ConditionsThis role involves direct interaction with clients. Depending on client preferences, work may be conducted predominantly remotely, in a hybrid model, or primarily on-site. Some travel is expected. Additionally, this role may require extended working hours during peak periods, such as debut.
Salary and Other Compensation:Applications will be accepted until February 02, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $129,500.00 – $152,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
