Position Title: SAP MDG / MM Functional Lead (India)

Location: Chennai, India

Position Summary:     

We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Functional Lead with a strong background in Materials Management (MM) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the MDG and MM functional tracks, ensuring efficient processes, configurations, and integrations across SAP platforms. Expertise in SAP ECC on HANA 4.6C is required, and experience with SAP S/4HANA will be considered a significant advantage.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Expertise:

Lead and manage the MDG and MM functional tracks, including configuration, customization, and implementation of solutions. Develop, design, and optimize master data governance processes within SAP MDG. Ensure seamless integration of MM processes with MDG and other SAP modules (e.g., SD, PP, FICO).

Project Delivery:

Gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into functional specifications for implementation. Support project life cycles, including blueprinting, testing, training, and go-live activities. Act as a primary point of contact for MDG and MM-related functional tasks, issues, and enhancements.

Data Management:

Provide leadership in master data governance strategy, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards. Work closely with business stakeholders to streamline master data processes and resolve issues.

Collaboration & Support:

Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements. Provide functional support for SAP MDG and MM systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions. Train end-users and prepare functional documentation, including business process flows and test scripts.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated with the latest developments in SAP MDG and MM, leveraging industry best practices. Identify opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Experience: 8+ years of experience in SAP functional roles, with at least 5 years specializing in SAP MDG and MM. Hands-on experience in SAP ECC on HANA 4.6C; exposure to SAP S/4HANA is a plus. Proven experience in SAP implementation projects, including blueprinting, configuration, Testing and support. Expertise in MDG processes like central governance, consolidation, and data quality. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of MM processes like procurement, inventory management, demand planning, subcontracting and vendor management. Familiarity with SAP integration tools and methodologies. Experience in handling SAP transports, workflows, and master data distribution.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders. Proficiency in documenting business requirements and creating functional specifications. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
