The Opportunity:
Join NAVSEA 03S as an SAP Materials Management (MM) Solution Engineer for the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES). In this crucial role, you will lead the architectural design and implementation of the SAP Materials Management module, replacing legacy systems and modernizing material management processes for naval ship and submarine maintenance operations worldwide. Key Responsibilities:
Design and architect the SAP MM solution for NMMES, ensuring alignment with naval maintenance and modernization requirements across global facilities.
Lead the transition from legacy material management applications to the SAP MM module, developing migration strategies and data conversion plans.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze complex business requirements, translating them into effective SAP MM solutions.
Interface with senior Navy leadership on project deliverables and milestones
Develop the overall SAP MM blueprint, including process designs, configuration specifications, and integration points with other SAP modules and external systems.
Provide expert guidance on SAP MM best practices, industry standards, and innovative solutions to optimize material management processes.
Design and oversee the implementation of custom enhancements, user exits, and interfaces to meet specific NMMES requirements.
Ensure the MM solution integrates seamlessly with other NMMES applications and existing SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, PM).
Develop strategies for data governance, master data management, and data quality within the MM module.
Lead technical design reviews and provide mentorship to the MM implementation team.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure the MM solution meets DoD/Navy cybersecurity requirements.
Develop and maintain solution architecture documentation, including diagrams, models, and technical specifications.
Provide thought leadership on emerging SAP technologies and their potential application within the NMMES MM context.
Hands-on technical proficiency but also the ability to understand the complex needs of naval maintenance operations and design innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field
7 or more of years of experience in SAP MM implementations, including full lifecycle projects
Extensive experience in transitioning from legacy material management systems to SAP MM
Documented skill with SAP MM processes, including procurement, inventory management, material valuation, and warehouse management
Strong knowledge of SAP MM configuration, customization, and integration with other modules
Experience in designing and implementing complex SAP MM solutions in large-scale environments
Proficiency in SAP MM-related technologies (e.g., MRP, EWM, SRM)
Demonstrated expertise in SAP S/4HANA MM innovations and migration strategies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into effective solutions
Current and active Secret Clearance
Desired:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
SAP MM certification
Experience working with DoD/Navy programs or similar complex government IT systems
Knowledge of naval maintenance and modernization processes and supply chain operations
Familiarity with DoD acquisition and procurement regulations
Experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Cloud Platform
Understanding of SAP Solution Manager and SAP Activate methodology
Knowledge of SAP GRC and security concepts related to MM
Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies in SAP implementations
Familiarity with emerging technologies in materials management (e.g., IoT, blockchain, AI/ML)

The proposed salary range for this position is:
