Location: Bakersfield, CA (Hybrid Schedule)

Important Notes:

Hybrid Work Schedule: Monday and Friday: Remote (Supervisor's discretion). Tuesday through Thursday: In-office at Bakersfield, CA. Schedule may change based on business needs, especially during end-user training, Go-Live, or hypercare. Travel: Travel to field locations in Central California (2–110 miles from Bakersfield) is required. Frequency of travel increases during end-user training and hypercare. Overnight stays are not generally expected but may be required occasionally. Schedule Options: 9/80 or 4/10 work schedules available.

The Sr. Instructional Designer/Trainer Consultant will support the local deployment of SAP S/4 HANA, focusing on creating innovative business instructional materials aligned with organizational goals and learner needs. This role involves developing materials for enterprise systems enhancements in areas like asset management, materials management, and finance.

The consultant will collaborate closely with functional leads, change managers, and SMEs to deliver fit-for-purpose learning products that drive user adoption and proficiency.

Responsibilities:

Understand change impacts, review the core curriculum, and align on training needs. Develop a comprehensive range of training materials, including e-learning modules, system simulations, quick reference guides, and instructor-led content. Create online, interactive training materials using tools like SAP Enable Now, Articulate Storyline, and Vyond. Design and administer assessments to evaluate instructional program effectiveness. Collaborate with team members to deliver tailored user-centric solutions. Assist in classroom agenda creation and delivery flow for end-user training. Maintain consistent design standards across all training materials. Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Track project progress and document milestones. Engage with stakeholders to ensure learning objectives are met. Participate in content review cycles and sign-offs. Travel to field locations as needed. Perform additional duties, including surveys, training data analysis, and administrative support.

Required Experience:

Proficient in SAP Plant Maintenance and Supply Chain modules. Experience with full-cycle ERP deployments. Strong knowledge of SAP Enable Now, Articulate Storyline, and Vyond. Expertise in instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE). Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Ability to adapt to a hybrid work environment.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, or Power industries, including frontline operations. Familiarity with training users on the Prometheus Web Scheduling Platform.

Logistics:

Travel to field locations may vary from project onset to hypercare. The role requires both remote and in-office work based on project requirements.
