SAR Engineer

KBR is seeking a highly qualified Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Engineer to provide support for the NRO Mission Operations Directorate (MOD). MOD operates, maintains, and reports the status of intelligence satellites and their associated ground systems, provides defensive space control and space protection, monitors satellite flight safety, and provides space situational awareness. This effort includes support to innovation labs developing new tools, models, and algorithms to operate and exploit satellite space and ground systems.

As a SAR Engineer, you have in-depth experience and knowledge of SAR sensors on NRO spacecraft. Tasks may include development of prototype solutions and algorithms to enhance exploitation of SAR imagery.

Required Qualifications:

3-5 years of expertise and experience and knowledge of NRO SAR sensors Ability to develop prototype solutions and algorithms to enhance exploitation of SAR imagery.Ability to deliver MOD lab innovations and mission operations advanced supportActive TS/SCI with CI polygraphBachelor’s degree in STEM or related quantitative science field

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in engineering or related quantitative science field Experience leading teams resulting in successful verification and test strategies/solutions for complex programsExperience with cloud development processesExperience with industry system engineering practicesStrong interpersonal skills in order to influence, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external leadershipKnowledge of NRO Mission Operations Directorate
