SaT Service Line Quality Manager

As a Quality manager, you will join a team who actively enables a positive Quality culture, and be a key point of contact for Quality and Risk Management guidance and support to the Consulting division within EY.

 

The opportunity

We are looking for an individual who has experience in, and a broad understanding of, internal risk and governance processes from a Global Big 4 professional services firm perspective, and can actively support a rapidly growing business to consistently deliver exceptional client service to our clients across Africa. You will be motivated to keep up with the fast pace of the professional services industry, and as such, be able to assist client servicing staff and senior management to deliver solutions that align with clients’ business objectives whilst ensuring quality is maintained at all times.

 

Your role will focus on further strengthening and innovating our existing processes, whilst enabling sustainable growth and consistent high-quality service delivery to our clients.

 

You will be required to:

Engage with leaders across our Africa business; Provide consultation support for pursuit governance and engagement quality controls; Support quality, independence and risk management programmes and processes; Innovate existing processes, in response to our rapidly changing environment; Team with a wide stakeholder group across service lines, competencies, functions and geographies; Guide teams on best practice service delivery methods, tools and practices; Interpret and apply EY Service Quality policies.

 

Your key responsibilities

The responsibilities listed in this document are not exhaustive and are flexible to accommodate the needs of the business, Africa Quality Projects and overall Firm requirements.

Amongst other things your role will include:

 Working closely with the Africa Consulting Quality Team with a focus on driving the Quality strategy; Increasing awareness to Consulting Quality policies; Acting as the primary contact for client service personnel in resolving queries or issues (Consultation support) under the direction of the Consulting Quality Senior Managers; Increasing awareness to, and embedding, existing quality programmes and processes where appropriate; Supporting the Consulting Quality Senior Managers in educating the client-serving individuals in Africa on risk and quality related matters and programmes, to help them better manage risk; Providing first review/content support on independence consultations as required; Monitoring quality initiatives and programs in Africa and reporting the status on a monthly basis; Teaming with Quality Management colleagues in the Clusters and Sub-Service Lines: Assessing and developing a response to Africa Consulting’s specific Quality needs in consultation with the Quality Senior Managers/Regional Consulting Quality Leader.

Good communication and organizational skills; Use business knowledge to make recommendations that facilitate embedding processes and programs; Confident in identifying and raising concerns to the Regional Consulting Quality Leader, regarding risks and exceptions; Ability to execute to plan; Knowledgeable on how professional services firms operate; Strong presentation skills; Strong problem-solving skills; Comfortable with change and being a strong change agent; Skilled at handling multiple projects concurrently, and prioritizing appropriately; Ability to work in a team to achieve a common goal in the interest of the EY Global organisation; Ability to remain objective and independent in all risk related matters; Not easily influenced by domineering personalities so that the interests of EY Global is always maintained;  Comfortable working with individuals at all levels and creating a network of relationships built on trust; Ability to teach others new skills; Ability to perform under pressure; Competent at interpreting, comprehending and applying Ernst & Young policies, giving accurate and consistent guidance to others; Strong listening skills; A strong focus on quality, risk management and efficiency.

To qualify for the role you must have

Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in a large professional services firm quality & risk management environment; Should be a confident and dynamic individual with excellent written and verbal business communication skills; Be able to learn, innovate and take initiative to better enable the business; Self-motivated, high energy levels, enthusiastic Strong managerial and organisational skills High levels of integrity and confidentiality; High levels of assertiveness and resilience. Attention to detail and commitment to following a process with care. Analytical thinker Be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience in working in a Big 4 Quality and Risk Management environment Have a suitable degree/certification aligned to risk management, project management or business management
