Job Title: Satellite Systems Engineer Job Description The Satellite Operation Systems Engineer will perform and participate in various tasks and activities, depending on the candidate's experience. The role involves leading and developing system requirements from the ground and space segment compatibility at the mission level down to the major subsystem level for both mechanical and electrical standpoints. The engineer will engage in trade-off studies to design, develop, and deliver the overall Satellite Operation Control Center infrastructure and security. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain system requirements from ground and space segment compatibility. + Conduct trade-off studies to design, develop, and deliver Satellite Operation Control Center infrastructure and security. + Develop performance budgets, design reports, and Concepts of Operations (CONOPs). + Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between space and ground segments. + Review design material provided by subcontractors to ensure compliance with requirements and Statement of Compliance (SOCs). + Develop Satellite Operation Manuals, test procedures, and oversee their execution and associated trainings. + Create Verification & Validation Matrices for the overall end-to-end mission and develop operations procedures for on-orbit commissioning and routine operations. + Provide inputs and lead/support all program reviews including EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PSR, OGAR. + Support Satellite Assembly Integration and Test (AIT). + Attend all test reviews including TRR, TRB, DRB, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). + Support end-to-end testing and data reviews/analysis for satellites. + Support satellite tests at MDA, test facilities, or at spacecraft supplier premises. + Support In-Orbit Tests (IOT). Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant field. + 10-15+ years of relevant experience. + Previous design and test experience with Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites and ground segment sub-systems. + Experience with ICDs, CONOPS, mechanical and electrical systems. + Experience in developing Satellite Operation Manuals and end-to-end testing. + Proficiency in on-orbit testing and in-orbit test procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with the development and maintenance of ICDs. + Experience in leading and supporting program reviews. + Previous experience in supporting satellite assembly, integration, and test processes. + Ability to attend and contribute to test reviews and data analysis. Work Environment This is a 100% remote position based out of Montreal, Canada.
