Savor at The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center is seeking an intern for the role of Savor Coordinator. This individual will assist in providing organizational and operational support to the Savor General Manager and Director of Catering Sales and Events. Rate: $18 Per Hour Preferred qualifications include a background in catering, events, or hotel administration, although it is not required. Qualifications for this internship include the ability to quickly grasp new procedures and information, as well as strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Responsibilities include: Assisting in managing schedules and task calendars. Updating event books. Producing event files. Demonstrating presentation skills and knowledge of PowerPoint and other presentation software. Handling calls and messages from clients and the public with professionalism. Acting as an office receptionist. Managing communication with clients and members via email and Zoom. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Assisting in managing schedules and meetings for the Savor General Manager and Director of Catering Sales & Events. Prioritizing department needs and juggling multiple assignments. Working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor. Demonstrating excellent people skills. The intern will play a crucial role in keeping the high-volume Savor Department running smoothly by: Maintaining accurate records and files for all event projects. Managing administrative details for vendors and suppliers. Tracking event requests, rentals, document deadlines, and files. Updating records in Events databases. Tracking proposals and contracts. Developing event-specific organizational tools. Providing research support for event execution. Creating presentations and basic printed materials.
