ResponsibilitiesYou will learn to inspect and repair saws and machine centers, change and set up chip heads on quad and gang edger in a safe and productive manner.

Bench saws, keeping saws level and straightInspect machine centers in filing room and on production floor and change saw blades as neededTip, profile and side dress saws as kerf reaches minimumMelt, pour and cut babbit guides as they become wornSharpen chipper knifes and fitting round sawsChange and set up chip heads on quad and gang edgerClean machine centers in filing room and on production floorChange saws in quad, edgers, resaw, trim saw and bucksaw as neededLearn how to bench, tension and level all sawsKeep work areas clean Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Required.One year certificate from college or technical school preferredPrevious saw and knife grinding experience preferred.Training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must maintain and carry a valid California driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles, including automobiles and trucks, in accordance with company policy guidelinesAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
