Compensation Range

Hourly: $29.90 - $39.90 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to Assess and Manage the Risk within the Small Business Banking (SBB) loan portfolio.

Essential Functions 

Monitor loan portfolio and identify potential credit concerns by assessing business/personal scores, internal credit triggers, payment behavior, risk reviews, and customer interaction

Perform industry assessment, financial statement analysis, and secondary repayment evaluation on loans identified with potential concerns    

Develop and implement appropriate work-out plans to minimize bank exposure for those credits identified with elevated risk  

Collaborate with Special Assets Group, Relationship Lead, Market Management, Legal, Compliance, Small Business Administration, and Consumer Loan Servicing to ensure assets are properly secured, appropriately managed, and meets internal and external compliance requirements 

Collect on past due payments, property taxes, and loan documentation exceptions in markets supported

Support market(s) with appropriate loan servicing responsibilities to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction levels are met 

Perform other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required 

Ability to identify elevated credit risk factors in a commercial loan

Knowledge of commercial loan products

Knowledge of loan and legal documentation

Ability to analyze financial statements

Basic compliance knowledge applicable to CRA and HMDA adherence with business loans

Intermediate presentation skills

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities 

Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values 

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 

Education & Experience 

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required

2+ years experience in credit underwriting within the banking industry required

Lending experience preferred

At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $29.90 to $39.90 per hour.
