The Materials Planning Manager leads a team of Dealer Sales Office (DSO) Material Planners, with the responsibility of planning and scheduling the delivery of finished goods material from the internal factories and/or other field organizations to all the field DSO warehouses and Regional Distribution Centers. This team is responsible to monitor the flow of manufactured and sourced products, guarantee availability of these products to avoid “out of stocks” and “high risk,” as well as to manage inventory levels to achieve inventory targets assigned.
This position is Remote within the United States. Preferred Tyler, Trenton, Vidalia, St. Peters, Davidson, Atlanta, (others could be considered that are Trane locations).

What you will do:
Manages material planning activity to ensure timely delivery of material to support internal and external demand to the DSO field warehouses through utilization of our Business Operating System (BOS).Manage the new product transitions, in accordance with TTPDP to ensure optimal inventory and safety stocks throughout DC’s and DSO’s during associated transition.Drive strategic improvements to ABC classification by analyzing ABC classification data to develop optimal replenishment strategy of finished goods throughout the factory and field network.Using the Inventory Optimization Planning System, ensure recommendations, push outs, critical shortages, and other system parameters are maintained and managed to service customer demand and adjust DSO warehouse stock positions to maintain effective order availability.Maintain proactive shortage identification by serving as escalation point with material planners to aid in root cause analysis , corrective actions, and resolution to improve delivery performance.Responsible for improvement of key performance metrics (At Risk, ATC, Inventory, Productivity, Employee Engagement, Fill Rate, Delivery, etc) as required for Monthly, quarterly, and annual reviewsCreate and deploy departmental training programs for direct reports and extended teams to improve material maturity through deployment of standard work. This position will play a critical leadership role in communicating and training resources that promote high performing teams.Lead and partner with required functional stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of planning, factory and field network, lean material flow initiatives and MDI
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent planner/planner management experience.5+ years minimum planner/buyer manufacturing experience.Must be a strong communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functionsExperience required in lean manufacturing, distribution inventory management, ERP management systems, and inventory optimization techniques.Must be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to maintain and build capabilities in a team oriented environment while leveraging lean process methodologies.APICS certification preferred or achieved within 12 months of position.Considerable knowledge of HVAC products preferred.Tableau and Alteryx knowledge and experience preferred.
Key Competencies:
Knowledgeable of supplier processes and capabilities.Able to provide direction and training to peers as needed.Computer proficient with ERP / Time Phased Order Point Planning systemsBasic to advanced mathematical skillsExperience with distribution planning in multi-facility environmentExperience with rate based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.Experience with visual management systemsTravel: 10-15%
