Responsibilities The Opportunity Develop the strategies of implementation along the supply chain for PMF for certification schemes and FSMA compliance aligned with our Quality model and our Quality and Food Safety System management as well as deliver consistency according to a design, quality measurement, management & distribution, having full compliance with local and international regulations guaranteeing safe products for our consumers, hand in hand with food safety programs. Your Impact As SC QC Manager your scope would consist of: Harmonization of the Global Quality and Safety strategies to the plant management system, acting as a liaison with the operations for its implementation and execution, complying with the Pepsico values. Ensure Food Safety system by developing and maintain updated and available documentation for Quality , Food Safety and Laboratory Management System. Ensure compliance with the local and global objectives of Food Quality and Safety. Ensure business continuity through the proper deployment and execution of the microbiology program developed by the central laboratory and deploy to the 14 site in PMF by: ensuring compliance of all specification (Quality &FS) of ingredients and products along the value chain, through physicochemical and microbiological analyzes of raw materials, semi finished & finished product, environmental sampling, process water analysis, personnel sampling, transportation, packaging, equipment and utensils. Following the corresponding Non-Compliant Product detected by the laboratory. Ensure compliance with the laboratories requirements established by the different regulations (FSMA, GFSI, CODEX). Establish the guidelines, implement, validate the execution in a timely manner, as well as follow up the corrective actions generated for each of the Central Laboratory programs: PIL, BIAS Manager, YOUDEN, Laboartory´s audits, Microbiological program, water reuse in potato, allergen and cleaning validations. Follow up on the implementation of new methodologies by analytical R&D and Food Safety, ensuring continuity in the correct execution of these methodologies. Detect the service and analytical needs of the laboratories that are in the plants of all the Business Units, in order to define: Technical capacity of suppliers for calibration and maintenance of measuring equipment. Technical capacity of suppliers for the purchase of reagents and laboratory equipment. Establish priorities for the purchase of national Capex equipment based on the needs of each plant. Adapt and implement a Quality and Food Safety management system to obtain certification as value added under a scheme approved by GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiatives) that has international recognition, as well as providing the trust both to our customers and Safe and harmless products. Ensure that risks identified in operations are managed to ensure proper follow-up in the value chain to avoid consumer complaints or possible recalls that affect the company's brand and reputation. Ensure alignment and guideline for risk managemmet controls and mitigation strategys implementation. Ensure the E2E process for innovations for new lines/products by early participation in the different comisisoning process. Ensure, through the implementation and execution of Quality, Food Safety and Microbiology & Physicochemical Programs, to comply with the new FDA law of the United States of America for exporting plants, ensuring that these provisions are complied with as set out in the FSMA Modernization Act) in the legal field including: PCHF compliance, IA Rule Food Defense and FSVP rule. Mitigate regulatory impacts and possible product withdrawals through the execution of Quality, Food Safety and Microbiology & Physicochemical Systems, ensuring that the company does not have both image and economic impacts due to a non-compliance that may lead to closure of a plant or legal repercussions to the leaders Of PepsiCo. Harmonization, development and deployment of Global Food Safety standards, Food Safety Mandates and initiatives by participating in different working groups to ensure execution in PMF Region. Internal monitoring and verification to the compliance of the management system through audits that allow to have an overview of each plant and to establish action plans in case of requesting them, managing the necessary resources. Programming of certification and monitoring audits that allow the company to be kept under this certification scheme in order to comply with current requirements. Ensure the correct implemtation and execution of Integrated Pest Control program in all sites by managing a governance with supplier in order to assure compliance with regulation, trend analysis per site, risk analysis, sufficient controls, bidding process,mitigation activities and corrective actions are in place. Training of key personnel in plant for the correct deployment and correct execution in plant with the necessary knowledge so that the programs are managed according to the regulations and to the requirements established in the internal standard of PMF as part of LatAm Sector. Qualifications ¿Who Are We Looking For? Food Safety Audits Understands and is able to describe the key elements of a Food Safety System which must be adhered to, including the management of documents and food safety procedures related to their specific role. Can respond to and explain the requirements for compliance to the Food Safety in their specific role. Knowlage in food safety STDs. Demonstrates a good practical understanding of a Food Safety System, based on the principles of ISO 9000, F22K, GFSI, FSMA, FSVP, Food Defense and Food safety Audits as applied to food manufacturing. Demonstrates awareness and understanding of Quality audit standards and tools employed to demonstrate compliance, such as audit trails. Demonstrates awareness and understanding of the use of corrective and preventative action plans. Demonstrates competence to undertake and report thorough audits against process and product specifications. Demonstrates ability to manage resultant corrective and preventative action plans. Food Safety, Microbiological & physiochem Good understanding of HACCP and HRPC based Food Safety Management systems to a recognised industry standard (Intermediate level equivalent). Is effective in the facilitation of HACCP and HRPC studies/reviews, covering all hazard categories, as required. Can effectively facilitate HACCP and HRPC based risk assessments to cover all change management situations. Can communicate HACCP and HRPC awareness and understanding to colleagues. Knowledge in metrology, laboratory operations, sampling protocols, experimental design, traceability, general chemistry, quantitative and qualitative analytical chemistry, statistical process control and food microbiology. Food Safety knowledge in Microbiological, Physical, Chemical, Allergen, Radiological and EMA hazard recognition, equivalent to graduate level, to ensure necessary understanding of hazards and required controls Demonstrates in depth practical understanding of Food Safety hazard identification in food manufacturing. Can provide guidance to a range of recipients in identification of hazards and effective, practical controls required to manage hazards arising from all categories. Can design strategies to effectively communicate potential Food Safety hazards and the requirement for control to a wide range of recipients Suppliers: Expert knowledge of Supplier Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, to effectively develop and implement best practice supplier management programmes (SQA) across Food Manufacturing. Demonstrates in depth knowledge of external certification standards and industry best practices to develop strategies and tools for the PepsiCo SQA programmes. In depth knowledge of the PepsiCo’s Global SQA Programme to ensure effective delivery of the SQA global agenda across all sectors. Wide knowledge of industry accepted Food Safety requirements, including HACCP and HRPC, to a recognised industry standard. Good understanding of best practice programmes used to maintain ongoing quality and food safety standards and used to drive a continuous improvement culture with suppliers. Regulatory Has a basic knowledge of regulations and regulatory frameworks in a limited geographical area. Understands the role of trade associations and key stakeholders. Monitors regulatory developments and identifies and explains those relevant to his/her work. Takes future regulatory developments into account during work activities. Crisis Management Demonstrates expert understanding of the Corporate Recall Action Team Plan and knowledge of the PepsiCo Recall Policies Manual. Demonstrates ability to coach the team and lead the full execution of responsibilities in the event an incident requires a product Recall, Withdrawal, or Stock Recovery. Quality Systems & Audits Understands and is able to describe the key elements of a Quality Management System which must be adhered to, including the management of documents and Quality procedures related to their specific role. Can respond to and explain the requirements for compliance to the Quality Management System in their specific role. Demonstrates a good practical understanding of a Quality Management System, based on the principles of ISO 9000, F22K, GFSI, Food safety Audits as applied to food manufacturing.
