SCADA/Controls Engineer
We are seeking a SCADA and Controls Engineer to support DG control systems design and integration for a world leader in renewable energy on projects across the US. In this position, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new automation systems as well as existing systems, utilizing the latest technologies and trends in renewable energy projects. While most work will be performed in office in Juno Beach, FL, there will be up to 40% travel to sites. Travel expenses for projects shorter than 30 days will be paid, and projects over 30 days will receive a per diem.
Job Description
+ Design, develop, and implement new and existing automation systems.
+ Maintain a sound working relationship with all management, supervisory positions, foremen, and electricians in the designated area.
+ Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all engineering documentation and specifications required for successful project implementation.
+ Establish procedures and standards in safety, communications, and performance testing, and ensure adherence to these procedures.
+ Extract all contractual requirements as stated in power purchase agreements and interconnection agreements.
+ Ensure that current engineering and SCADA design meets all deliverables.
Responsibilities
+ Control software design and programming for PLC and SCADA
+ Experience with Ovation software
+ Interfacing and coordination for M2M, B2B, DNP3
+ Network design, specification, BOM, and sourcing
+ Device control network design, specification, BOM, and sourcing
+ Experience with PLCs (Schneider, IEC 611-31 Programming)
+ SCADA & HMI systems (Wonderware, Ignition)
+ HMI panels & panel PCs (Schneider, Red Lion, Eaton)
+ IT infrastructure, radios, and cell modems (MDS, Freewave, Sierra, Ubiquiti)
+ Communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP, MQQT, OPC)
+ Ability to generate bills of materials for automation systems and panels
Qualifications
+ 5-15 years recent experience SCADA engineering in a power or related field
+ Programming Skills: Experience with PLC programming and configuring RTUs
+ Schweitzer Relays: Proficiency in working with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) relays is highly desirable
+ RTAC Programming: Hands-on experience with Real-Time Automation Controllers (RTACs) is a significant plus
+ Power Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with power systems electronic equipment and protocols
+ Solar and Battery Storage: Experience with solar power plants and battery storage systems
+ Collaborate with team to design and implement SCADA and communication systems for the projects
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
