SCADA Engineer Intern

We are collaborative, transparent and committed to our People and their work experience, growth and professional development. **SCADA Engineer Intern** **Wage Rate: $16.75 per hour** The SCADA Engineer Intern will assist the Operations Technology team with the support, implementation, modification, maintenance, and documentation of the Energy Management System (EMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and supporting applications. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** **:** + Assist with maintenance and support activities of the EMS, including the development of one-line drawings. + Assist in the development of diagnostic and recovery procedures. + Assist with the protection, integrity, and security of data, controls, applications, systems, and networks, in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and DPC policies. + Provide limited system-level support for application servers and workstations. + Update SCADA and control system definitions for SCADA, monitoring, control, and user interface work and verify the integrity of all functions impacted by changes. + Assist with support work for ongoing projects with operations, settlements, communications, engineering, member cooperatives, and other utility organizations. + Provide timely support and coordination with other support staff and impacted parties. + Provide instruction to users and cross-train with peers. Maintain technical and user documentation. + Perform other duties as assigned. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** **:** **Education & Experience** : Student pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree related to Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Systems. **Skills Of Interest:** + Knowledge of modern software applications and document management strategies. + Strong organizational and critical thinking skills. + Experience with Windows and/or Linux systems administration. + Knowledge of routing, switching, data center infrastructure, wireless technology, and security. + Strong, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills as the position will operate in a cross functional capacity working closely with vendors, engineers, operators, technicians and information technology resources. + Ability to maintain technical documentation, cross-train peers, and mentor. + Must be self‐motivated, disciplined, and able to perform job duties independently. **Physical Demands** : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work area is at the Administration Building but may also have assignments requiring field visits to remote facilities (generation plants, substations, and communications facilities).
