Are you ready to take on the role of Scaffold & Rope Access Specialist for a major construction project in Tanzania? As a specialist in scaffolding and rope access, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our project's construction activities.

Role Overview

Coordinate day-to-day preservation activities of construction quality staff and contractors. Ensure all preservation works are carried out using safe working practices and in accordance with project codes, standards, drawings, and specifications. Oversee scaffolding activities, including erection, dismantling, and modification. Conduct risk assessments and provide technical instructions, erection plans, and design notes for scaffolding. Ensure scaffolding operations are performed by authorized personnel using appropriate fall protection equipment. Inspect scaffolds regularly and document all inspections. Implement specific rules for construction use of scaffolds to prevent falls and dropped objects. Manage rope access work, including conducting risk assessments and ensuring certified personnel are used. Ensure technical requirements for rope access work are met, including proper anchoring, use of safety equipment, and secure storage of tools. Coach and mentor staff on HSE strategy and commitments related to scaffolding and rope access management.

Skills & Qualifications

Competency in large project organizations focused on construction delivery. Proficiency in industry applications such as Aconex, PowerBI, SharePoint, Adobe, and MS Office. Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written. Physical ability to work in the field and conduct inspections in difficult terrain. Autonomous, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Knowledge of root cause analysis, data-driven decision making, and H&S risk analysis. Strong coaching and mentoring skills. Ability to work effectively in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Science or related field. At least 10 years of experience in field lead roles in the construction industry, preferably onshore pipeline and related facility scopes. Experience working within cross-functional teams supporting contractor construction, commissioning, and start-up readiness. Certified specialist in OSHA 29CFR1926 (Scaffold Safety in Construction) and EN12811-1:2003 (Scaffolds Performance Requirements & General Design) or equivalent. Rope Access certified IRATA 3, CQP 2 or equivalent. Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems).
