Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, a Scanner in warehouse operations is responsible for processing returned/recalled consumer products or pharmaceuticals on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer. The Scanner position requires high attention to detail and ability to operate technology such as barcode scanners, digital scales, software applications, and touch screen computers and the ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this position.

Primary Accountabilities:

Efficiently and accurately capture product codes (bar codes) or other information, using scanning equipment, for input of information into computerized systemsFor pharmaceutical products, visually identify and verify key product information, then count, measure or weigh the item and enter information into computerized systemsSort scanned product items into appropriate container locationsInspect condition of product and prepare for disposition in accordance with client contract termsAlways maintain a clean and orderly workstation and area

Required Qualifications:

High School (or its equivalent) or minimum of two year’s work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position requiredLegally authorized to work in the U.S.Working knowledge of computersAble to follow standard operation and safety proceduresAble to work in an environment that is not climate controlledAble to work under time pressure and meet production goals; able to work more than 8 hours per day (over-time) as neededAble to assist with other operations within the warehouse, as neededAble to handle hazardous waste materials with appropriate safety measures
