Job Description

Our Scanner Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team of Scanners who manage the scanning of passenger tickets and boarding passes at airport checkpoints. This role includes training and supervising staff in electronic scanning equipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in passenger document processing. You must also coordinate with airport security and other departments to ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols. Furthermore, you will be tasked with resolving any issues related to scanning processes, maintaining records, and preparing reports on team performance and scanning activities.

· Oversee the daily operations of baggage and cargo scanning teams

· Train and mentor scanner personnel in the use of scanning equipment and security protocols

· Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of scanning procedures

· Ensure compliance with all airport security regulations and guidelines

· Conduct regular performance evaluations of scanning staff

· Coordinate with other airport departments for streamlined security operations

· Implement and enforce safety measures around scanning equipment

· You have a great attention to detail

· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

· Strong customer service skills

· Like to build long term relationships with your customers

· Physical activity may include:

· Stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

· Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

 

 

Qualifications

· Minimum age of 18 years old

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

· At least 3 years of experience in a similar role or airport operations

· Proven leadership and team management skills

· Advanced proficiency with electronic scanning devices and computer systems

· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

· Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

· Knowledge of airport safety and security regulations

· Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

· Ability to pass a drug screen

· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
