The targeted hiring range for this position is $13.85 - $17.98 per hour depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team at the St. James Hotel. As a Line Cook, you will assist the Chef in preparing and executing delicious meals according to our seasonal menus while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. If you have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
Prepare all foods for daily service in accordance with seasonal menus and health/sanitation guidelines.Cook hot and cold food products accurately and efficiently.Assist in food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing.Ensure proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.Communicate effectively with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.Address guest complaints and problems professionally to ensure satisfaction.QualificationsBasic computer skills.Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.Desirable Qualifications:
