Job Overview:

Responsible for scheduling all patient infusion treatments and therapies with physician appointments for the Infusion and Cancer Center. Maintain Infusion scheduling work queues and IN-Baskets in EPIC EMR. Collaborate with physician teams to ensure efficient scheduling coordination is met. Collaborates with an Authorization team to ensure treatment authorization is completed prior to scheduling. Confirm and communicate final schedules with patients.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or EquivalentRelevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Six (6) months to one (1) year of relevant experience and/or training.

Preferred:

Epic Experience Experience with Scheduling Oncology BackgroundBilingual

Scheduling Requirements:

Shift Working: Monday-Friday, 9AM-5:00PMRemote Postion - Onsite while trainingDay ShiftFull-Time, 37.5 Hours Per Week

Essential Functions:

Schedules infusion treatments and therapy plans with a high level of accuracy and brings questions to the appropriate party.Accurately schedules Infusion treatments as indicated by physician/physician staff including date, treatment time, and amount of time needed.Collaborates professionally with Infusion RN s/physician/physician staff/Radiation Oncology/other departments to coordinate, Radiation Therapy appointments, physician appointments and treatments required for patient.Maintain EPIC Infusion Scheduling work queue and maintain volume and standards set by manager.Accurately communicate and work from EMR EPIC In-Baskets with appropriate staff and departments. Consults with Authorization team on authorization concerns or issues.Resolve routine patient scheduling inquiries and problems.Adheres to the guidelines outlined in the facility-wide attendance policy.Communicates problems to the proper personnel promptly; asks questions to clarify misunderstandings; requests assistance from appropriate personnel in the event of an unusual or difficult situationConfirm and communicate final schedules with patients.Demonstrates a complete knowledge of all phases of the job.Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail at all times.Demonstrates an awareness of the scheduler s importance in contributing to patient safety and the efficient coordination of Infusion treatments.Demonstrates excellent customer service in communication with physicians/physician staff, all departments within the Cancer and Infusion center, miscellaneous callers and visitors.Demonstrates good judgment by following written and verbal instructions carefully.Demonstrates the ability to adapt to change in the workload as required; uses time productively.Shows good judgment in the answering and referral of phone calls.
