A Scheduler coordinates daily scheduling for hourly Union employees. Their main duties include planning weekday and weekend schedules, to ensure people resources for a sustained business continuity. Key support to implement the hourly employees training strategy.

How you will contribute

You will:

Make Quality production plan based on DSRP recommendations, Pre-SOP & other known activities in order to achieve appropriate balance between inventory, cost and customer service level. Drive rescheduling / recovery of misses with Department Mangers. Communicate about all run out plans to plant. (allowing for appropriate capacity / labor decisions); Achieve stock build targets. Labor variances not adversely effected due to planning activity. Provide direction to other planner & Vendor Schedulers on how to address forthcoming events, Including new product introduction, capacity constraints, and line shutdowns. Direct involvement in the production scheduling process in order to ensure optimum stock holdings. Regular Maintenance and Housekeeping of data to ensure Prism is making valid recommendations.Work effectively with internal & external stakeholders (service providers, contract employee Labor agencies, co-Packing/ external Mfg. vendors) to ensure Production compliance to schedules based on demand in accordance to our standards, procedures and protocols. Proactively and timely report & resolve any issues to pre-empt any business impact and/or accommodate changes to production and/or customer service levels as appropriate after alignment of all stakeholders.Build capability mastery on SAP planning systems. Manage inventory to KPI targets. Support IBP preparation and metric dashboard. Adhere to manufacturing and regulatory compliance standards/regulations. Leverage IL6S standard work process and own one or more of the pillar systems/processes. Participate in projects that drive value and loss elimination.Drive continuous improvement with Snr Planner of scheduling procedures and processes maximizing use of current technology & challenging current procedures in order to simplify the planning process and reduce possibility of  errorsProvide action plans for work processes & procedures to be improved & documented. Recommend shift quota changes through Pre Sop process with root cause analysis. Continuous improvement of tracking of work force requirements & Quota’s with regular updates to achieve No Misses due to labor shortages or inappropriate Quota’s.

Education / Certifications:

High school diploma (required)Bachelor’s Degree (Industrial Engineering or Business Administration).(Preferred)

Job specific requirements

Strong organizational and technical skillsPreferred 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Union labor management is a plus.Preferred experience in Lean manufacturing and TPM. Continuous Improvement experience, including Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis and Breakdown Elimination system.Proven leader with strong communication, time management, coaching, priority setting and change management skills.Trust and empowers team, while holding team and others accountablePassion for developing and coaching talentSolid interpersonal skills and team orientationTechnical and problem-solving skillsDesire to oversee a 24-hour organization

Work schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8hrs, early or late overtime and weekends as needed.May be required to work different shifts in addition to being on call for consultation during other shifts

Salray range:

$65000 to $73000
