**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
The Scheduler will be responsible for planning and coordination of all work to be disseminated to dispatchers based on a wholistic workload approach. The focus is for the scheduler to deliver a daily plan (short term) for the Centralized Dispatchers to meet (long term) business requirements. Directs and prioritizes the scheduling of work and allocation of all resources to ensure timely and reliable service to customers in accordance with the corporate business plans. An individual scheduler will be responsible for optimizing personnel and other resources to include and not limited to: Service, Distribution, Locates, & Compliance work of assigned service area(s). The Scheduler is responsible for the integrity of the Work and Asset Management (WAM) Business System.
**Day-to-Day Responsibilities:**
Works under a mentor and with regular guidance on assignments of moderate complexity and variety; Periodically, granted moderate decision-making responsibility requiring independent judgement within multiple assigned service area of responsibilities, developing skills and independence over time.
+ Responsible for ensuring the accurate completion of work orders as required for multiple service areas. Responsible for updating records in a timely fashion to represent and notify service areas and others of completion of identified work.
+ Plan, prioritization, and direction of work and resource allocation.
+ Analyze and implement workload level and company/contractor decisions to enable effective resource allocation to ensure budgetary goals are met.
+ Maintains communications with Customer Experience Departments, Operations Management and Centralized Dispatchers on work order issues. Creates, assigns, updates, and corrects work orders in SAP, WebIC, ISU, FIORI and the Work and Asset Management (WAM) Business System as needed.
+ Determine the impact and significance of obstacles/changes in execution of the work plan, prioritize and solve as appropriate (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly). Responsible for issue identification, tracking and resolution both internally and externally.
+ Identify opportunities for improvement to procedures, processes and/or personnel based on data. Develop a proposed solution and partner with the appropriate Operation Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers to implement enhanced improvements. Understand internal and external customer needs and ensure solutions are developed to address.
+ Responsible for partnering with Compliance, Damage Prevention, Safety, Engineering, Operations, Centralized Dispatchers, Business Intelligence, on work preparation as appropriate based upon financial implications, compliance issues and availability of resources.
+ Collaborate with Operation Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers in the identification and resolution of productivity or performance issues of field resources.
+ Will perform additional duties and responsibilities and assist other personnel as needed.
**What We’re Looking For**
**Must Haves:**
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Minimum of four (4) years of related support work experience in an engineering, construction, or utility environment. Experience consists of the coordination and scheduling of work orders or complex tasks. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
+ Demonstrated Project Management skills (analytical and organizational).
+ Experience supporting a resource planning landscape environment.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment that is fast paced and highly deadline driven.
+ Must communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
+ Align the implementation of work completion with Business Goals.
+ Ability to read and comprehend policies, procedures, and instructions.
+ Must use good judgment, prioritize work categories, work independently, and be multi-tasked oriented.
**Nice-to-Haves:**
+ A two-year technical degree or technical certification is strongly preferred and may substitute for equivalent related experience.
+ Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the natural gas industry.
+ Proven leadership on projects and other various assignments of complexity and diversity.
+ Demonstrated experience in SAP.
+ Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and organized while meeting necessary time sensitive deadlines.
+ Must be able to efficiently use computer hardware and software for spreadsheets design, data manipulation/analysis and to produce graphic material and presentations.
+ Standard Query Language (SQL), report development skills (SQL/Oracle/Access).
+ Working knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the natural gas industry.
+ Working knowledge of Share Point, FSM, WAM (Work Asset Management), Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, and SAP, WebIC, FIORI and ISU system.
+ Working knowledge of PGS (Peoples Gas System) administrative, Customer Experience, and local PGS Operations policies and procedures, and Peoples Gas Geographic territory.
**Working Conditions**
Weekly shifts with occasional overtime in a fast-paced operations office or home if deemed necessary environment. Some travel will be required on an occasional basis.
**Physical Demand**
+ Must have vision correctable to 20/40.
+ Must be physically capable of working indoor/outdoor environments.
+ Must be able to sit or stand for 12-hour shifts.
