Position Description
Performs scheduling function in a high volume fully computerized environment. Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians’ offices. Requires intimate knowledge of radiological or rehabilitation procedures, exam preparations, exam sequencing and other related functions within radiology; or required referrals and knowledge of caveats to all rehabilitation appointments types, specialties and coordination of care. Additional skills required include typing, strong customer service and problem solving.
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology Three (3) years previous medical related clerical experience or an associate’s degree Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application Demonstrated problem-solving skills Previous experience as a Scheduler II or Scheduler/Secretary
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of the computerized scheduling system Associate Degree Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third party payers. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility. Ability to work independently. Prior experience in insurance precertification.
