Scheduling Coordinator, Labor and Delivery
Unit Overview:
Labor and Delivery is a high risk specialized unit that provides care to pregnant individuals prior to and during labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. This unit has 17 private birthing suites, 8 Triage/PACU beds, 4 OR Rooms, and a specialized Antepartum unit that provides care for women with high-risk pregnancies and post-partum diagnoses needing supportive care.

Job Description:
Upon direction of the department director and/or designee, will provide professional scheduling services for physicians and/or physician offices; performs a variety of clerical tasks involved in preparing, maintaining and processing patient data. Performs clerical tasks such as ordering and maintaining forms and supplies.
Upon orders from the physician/direction of the physician office, schedules appropriate procedures (cesarean section, labor induction, cerclage and Nonstress test), coordinates process/times with charge nurse/manager and makes arrangements for the patient as directed.Accurately and completely performs patient scheduling, PAT and scheduling Covid Testing as applicable.Performs telephone interviews with physicians and physician’s offices to secure complete scheduling information.Obtains and enters correct scheduling information including name, DOB, admission status, referring physician, estimated due date, weeks' gestation, reason for induction, cesarean delivery or other procedure, etc.Reviews scheduled cases to ensure that the prenatal record is on the chart and up to date and diagnostic reports are on the chart. Responds to requests for missing prenatal records from multiple DepartmentsEnsures that the <39-week form is scanned into chart as applicable. • Review Snap board to determine if patient’s have delivered prior to their original scheduled time frame to ensure the schedules are current.Reviews the suspension list for physicians when scheduling an appointment and maintains awareness of openings/cancellations in the schedule and notifies appropriate personnel of all schedule changesMaintains confidentiality, compliance, and medical records.Maintains integrity of patient data by entering notes, in the registration system as well as chart as appropriate, to accurately reflect actions performed for each account. This includes, but is not limited to, accurately and completely identifying patients dismissed from the practice, rescheduled, no shows and cancelled appointments, ROI’s and appointment remindersMinimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
Highschool/GEDLess than 1 year experience (clerical experience in busy medical setting preferred.)Benefits:
