Scheduling Specialist - Orthopaedics Phoenixville
Job Summary The Scheduling Specialist is responsible for arranging surgical procedures, post op appointments and therapy services, according to protocol, to meet the needs and availability of the patient, the physician and available OR time. They review patients demographic information, insurance and medical history, insuring accuracy. They coordinate and communicate changes to existing schedule with appropriate departments/staff and make adjustments to ensure maximum utilization of the physician's available OR time. Duties include scanning documents into EMR, maintaining surgery spreadsheet, reviewing preoperative and postoperative instructions, sending telephone encounters and communicating with the Authorization Specialist to obtain prior authorizations for procedures.
