Does this sound like you? **Your Responsibilities** As a **School-Based Therapist** , you will provide therapy to children, age (5-17), within the school setting to promote optimum brain health, as well as improve social and educational functioning. As a counselor you will utilize your unique skills and Evidence Based and/or Evidence Researched treatment modalities to meet the needs of the student that was referred for services. Responsibilities will also include: + Completing an initial assessment, diagnostic summary, and other assessments as required + Developing a person-centered treatment plan + Completing progress notes within 24 hours of service delivery + Discharge planning and make referrals for additional services as needed + Collaborating with other professionals involved with clients, when appropriate **What You Need** + Masters degree in counseling, social work or closely related field + Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Independent Social Worker preferred + Iowa licensed to practice or eligible + Effective counseling and diagnosing skills, and a proficient knowledge of the impact of trauma + Proficiency in time management and EHR documentation + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Students are referred by school counselors. School based social emotional behavior counselors work in collaboration with school faculty, as well as parents or guardians to coordinate care and treatment of the student. Services are provided throughout multiple schools within the Dubuque Community School District.
