Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (7.5 hours per day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Caseload: Approximately 4 classrooms, with 6-8 students in each classroom
Grade Levels: K-12th Grade
Caseload: Students with Autism and/or intellectual disabilities
Salary: $58,000 – $68,000
AnthroMed Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our team in providing individualized support to students with Autism and intellectual disabilities. This therapeutic day school environment emphasizes a highly supportive, nurturing, and structured setting, and we are looking for a professional who thrives in this type of setting and is passionate about working with students who require individualized care. As the School Counselor, you will play a critical role in helping students navigate emotional, social, and behavioral challenges, while collaborating with staff, families, and external service providers to ensure the success and well-being of each student. Key Responsibilities:Individual and Group Counseling: Provide individual counseling and facilitate group therapy sessions to address students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs.Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with students' needs.Crisis Intervention: Support students during moments of emotional crisis, helping to de-escalate situations and providing immediate interventions.Parent and Family Engagement: Maintain open communication with families, providing regular updates on student progress and offering strategies to support students at home.Social Skills Development: Implement programs that focus on developing students' social skills, coping strategies, and self-regulation techniques.Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and special education staff, to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education and well-being.Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of interventions, student progress, and communication with families, ensuring compliance with school and district policies.Qualifications:Master’s Degree is required Valid Illinois State Professional Educator License (PEL)
