**Summary:**
**Performs patient care duties for children and adolescents under the direction of physician and/or nurse practitioner in MetroHealth School Health Program (SHP) Clinics. Performs clerical/reception/registration duties for SBHP clinic sites. Manages provider templates and clinic dates. Tracks clinic statistics and runs reports. Assists with patient and family outreach to promote the SBHP. Assists with coordination of multi-disciplinary learning activities. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.**
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Six months of medical assisting experience (externships included).
One year of recent medically-based clerical experience that includes front end operations (recent is defined as within the last 6 months).
Demonstrated competence and experience using Microsoft Office software products; Word & Excel
Experience in collecting data from various MHS software systems.
Knowledge of basic medical procedures, medical terminology and ability to communicate well with patients and staff is essential.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Must demonstrate good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and have ability to problem solve.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Culturally sensitive and comfortable working with a diverse urban population.
Organized and detail oriented.
Able to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings or weekends.
Reliable transportation to travel to multiple school-based health sites, MetroHealth facilities, and other locations as needed.
Preferred:
One year medical assisting experience (externships included).
Two years relevant work experiences and/or education.
Previous experience in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Adolescent Medicine.
Fluency in writing, speaking, and interpreting both English and Spanish.
Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer.
