Job Description

North Star Academy Nurses promote health and safety in the school environment and provides health services to students, faculty and staff. As the school health services specialist, nurses assist our students and staff in attaining and/or maintaining optimum health, and promoting positive health habits and attitudes

Responsibilities

Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illnessKeep track of students’ vaccination records and follows up with families as neededUpdate students’ medical history and files accordinglyEnsure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)Ensure compliance with national and local health laws

QualificationsBSN preferredLPN as long as they are willing to go back to school to get their RN degree to become school certified (Tuition will be reimbursed)

Compensation for this position: Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $60,000-$72,000. The starting compensation for this role is between $60,000 and $96,000. The starting pay will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience in a directly aligned role.  Because we value staff tenure in a role, we do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members.
