As a Part Time School Nurse (RN) at the Devereux Day School located in Landenberg, PA [20 McMaster Blvd] you will be responsible for the medication administration and general first aid for the students in the school. Also, you will demonstrate an understanding of the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting for students with special needs and medical challenges.
Everyday as a School Nurse you will:
Provide care as needed for the students with special needs and medical challengesAdminister and document the usage of medication by studentsOrganize and administer student medication Attain and maintain the optimum health status of all studentsYou will be offered:

Hours: 10:00am-12:30pm
Compensation: $36.05/hr - $41.10/hr (based on experience)

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.

QualificationsEDUCATION: Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pennsylvania preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous clinical experience in a behavioral healthcare setting and/or school setting strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques. Proficient use of computers and office equipment.
Valid driver's license must be maintained.
