School Nurses Needed! (RN or LPN)

The School Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student/client care and/or contracted services in a school setting. The School Nurse may also be in a supervisory position within the contracted services. The School Nurse provides services in accordance with Amergis Healthcare’s philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program
+ Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
+ One year of professional experience, preferred
+ Current CPR
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities:
+ Administering First Aid and Emergency Care: Providing immediate care for injuries and acute illnesses.
+ Health Screenings: Conducting routine screenings for vision, hearing, and other health issues.
+ Medication Administration: Dispensing medications as prescribed by physicians.
+ Health Records Management: Maintaining and updating student health records.
+ Chronic Condition Management: Assisting students with chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, and allergies.
+ Health Education: Educating students, staff, and parents on health-related topics.
+ Disease Prevention: Monitoring and controlling communicable diseases within the school.
+ Mental Health Support: Providing counseling and support for students with mental health concerns.
+ Immunization Programs: Coordinating and overseeing school immunization programs.
+ Policy Development: Assisting in the development and implementation of health and safety policies.
