The School Psychologist Intern works to support studentsthrough a variety of behavioral health and developmental issues and aid inqualifying students for additional support services. The School PsychologistIntern will practice in the role by way of assessing and observing students aswell as collaborating with the multidisciplinary team while supervised/instructed by District Psychologist or School Counselor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities under the Supervisionof District Psychologist/Counselor: 

Completes multi-factored evaluations (initial andre-evaluations) in compliance with state regulations within a designated period Conducts pre-referral consultation/intervention Monitors students response to curriculum modifications Serves as an instructional intervention specialist who plansintervention and individual education Performs Psycho-educational assessments in collaborationwith the multidisciplinary team Consults with teachers and other team members on an ongoingbasis Serves as a technical assistant for the support ofimplementation of RTI in the assigned schools (if applicable) Conducts an evaluation of each student assigned, which caninclude, but is not limited to: Pre-diagnostic meetings in order to determine the scope andsequence of needed evaluations Interviewing the student  Observing classroom behaviors  Consulting the student’s parents and teacher(s) asapplicable   Reviewing the student’s academic history and currenteducational functioning  Conducts psycho-educational evaluations of the child’slearning process and level of educational achievement  Administers specialized evaluations specific to the natureof the child’s problems  Conducts Functional Behavior Analysis for student, ifinstructed (consultation with team members required) Helps create Behavior Intervention Plan for student, ifinstructed (consultation with team members required)  Attends pre-referral and screening team meetings inbuildings assigned Observes the extended IEP team meetings and other suchprocedures as necessary, including manifestation determination reviewmeetings  In collaboration with multidisciplinary team, determines thenature of a child’s problems through a full case study evaluation                  Attends PAEC meetings, completes psychological evaluationreports, and schedules chairing prediagnostic meetings (PDM’s)  Participates in other duties based on the needs of studentsand programs. These may include: ? Teacher in-service Counseling Screening of students (preschool, etc.) Research of ongoing programs Maintains client information in a secure and confidentialmanner consistent with client and local procedures, as well as guidelines setforth by the State and State Board of Psychology  

Minimum Requirements:
