School Psychologists JobID: 1196 + Position Type: Student Support Services/ Psychologist + Date Posted: 7/18/2024 + Location: Multiple Locations + Date Available: ASAP    Application Deadline: Open until filled Requirements: NYS Certification - School Psychologist Salary: $51,950 - $64,200 Commensurate with Experience -Plus contractual stipend of $8,500 per year and additional pay for summer work SUMMARY: The School Psychologist will counsel with students individually and in groups on matters related to educational and personal development. Applies ethical principles and standards of practice to delivery of services in the schools. Completes comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations in clear, concise language and maintains accurate records within district and state mandated timelines. Maintains organized, accurate and complete records of student referrals and all relevant contacts made in providing services to those students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. 1. Demonstrates assessment knowledge and skills in areas of academic performance, behavior, and social/emotional development and functioning. 2. Consults with students, caregivers, teachers and administrators concerning learning strategies and/or holistic support for pupils who are experiencing difficulties. 3. Suggests realistic and effective intervention strategies for teachers to use with students. 4. Uses principles & methods of behavioral analysis in designing & implementing behavioral plans for individual students. 5. Works effectively with caregivers. 6. Works effectively with students. 7. Collaborates in developing and implementing prevention programs related to current social concerns. 8. Counsels students individually or in groups on improvement of educational programs and personal adjustment. 9. Intervenes effectively with students in crisis situations. 10. Assists in early identification of students’ school-related problems. 11. Observes federal, state, and local policies and regulations in the delivery of school psychological services. 12. Adheres to statutes and regulations addressing civil and legal rights of students, caregivers, and school personnel. 13. Communicates information critical to decision making, but maintains appropriate confidentiality. 14. Writes comprehensive psycho-educational reports in clear, concise language and maintains accurate records within district and state mandated timelines. 15. Maintains organized, accurate and complete records of student referrals and all relevant contacts made in providing services to those students. 16. Consults with caregivers and other school personnel to facilitate student learning. 17. Confers cooperatively with teachers and other school personnel to discuss student needs and to develop plans for remediation of problems. 18. Uses effective consultative behaviors. 19. Provides supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom in accordance with building and district expectations. 20. Reports to school on time. 21. Maintains confidentiality. 22. Adheres to and enforces CCSD Code of Conduct. 23. Participates, when appropriate, in continuous professional growth and development related to the field of school psychology and/or specific area(s) as assigned. 24. Attends required meetings and follows building rules, procedures and district policies. 25. Maintains positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, staff, caregivers, colleagues, district personnel and community. 26.
