School Social Worker – Chicago, IL 60642 – (West Town Neighborhood)

Location: Split Role Between Two Schools (Walking Distance or Short Drive)
Duration: ASAP - June 12th, 2025 AND next school year!
Schedule:Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Lower School (K-5th Grade)Tuesday, Thursday: Upper School (K-5th Grade)Caseload: 20-25 StudentsDedicated Spaces: Each school will provide a dedicated space (may be shared). Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 / Hourly: $44.64 - $56.82Position Overview:
The School Social Worker will play an integral role in fostering a supportive school environment for students in grades K-5. This split role will have the individual working at two schools within walking distance or a short drive of each other. They will focus on providing direct support to students, collaborating with educators and families, and creating a positive impact on students’ social-emotional well-being. This job is to support students until the end of this year and into next school year, which is an amazing way to build strong student relationships. We are currently looking for a passionate School Social Worker to join our team and provide crucial support to students across both of these wonderful buildings.
Key Responsibilities:Provide individual and group counseling for students with various social-emotional needs, including students with IEPs and behavioral challenges.Manage a caseload of 20-25 students across both schools, with a focus on supporting students in grades K-5.Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create individualized support plans and interventions for students.Push into Social Science blocks in the mornings, with the majority of the work done in pull-out sessions.Work closely with the existing K-5 Social Worker and the 6th-8th grade Social Worker to coordinate efforts and ensure comprehensive support for all students.Assess and develop individualized plans for students, including those with IEPs (one student at the Lower School has an IEP from out of state, with the team currently gathering more data on service minutes).Provide crisis intervention and ongoing emotional support for students as needed.Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP goals, and interventions, and communicate regularly with families about student well-being.Participate in team meetings, collaborate with faculty and administration, and support school-wide initiatives to promote social-emotional learning.Qualifications:Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)PEL licenseExperience working with K-5th grade students, ideally in a school setting.Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families.Strong communication and organizational skills.Empathy and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and families.Prior experience with IEPs, assessments, and educational interventions is a plus.Logistics & Parking:Split role between two schools, both within walking distance or a short drive of each other.Parking is available but may be limited; a first-come, first-served lot is available, along with street parking.Why AnthroMed?       AnthroMed Team Members who work 30+ hours per week are eligible for the full-time employee benefits offered by AnthroMed Benefits begin the first of the month after start date.
