NetImpact Strategies is seeking a Scientific Computing Engineer – Senior to join our team, in support of a federal client.

Senior Scientific Computing Engineer is experienced, with a strong background in applying advanced computational methods and high-performance computing (HPC) techniques to solve complex scientific and engineering problems. He should be an expert in developing, optimizing, and implementing scientific models, simulations, and algorithms across diverse fields such as physics, biology, chemistry, and engineering. Skilled in programming languages like Python, C++, and Fortran, he should be well-versed in using parallel computing frameworks and scientific libraries. Adept at collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, he should contribute to designing and optimizing computational workflows, driving breakthrough research and development. With a proven ability to manage large datasets, perform data analysis, and deliver reliable and efficient computational solutions, he should play a key role in advancing scientific endeavors. 

Responsibilities: 

Develop Computational Models: Design, implement, and optimize scientific models and simulations to address complex problems in various scientific and engineering fields. Algorithm Development: Develop and refine algorithms for high-performance computation, ensuring they are scalable and efficient for large datasets and simulations. High-Performance Computing (HPC): Utilize HPC systems and parallel computing techniques to accelerate computations, optimizing performance and reducing processing times. Data Analysis and Visualization: Analyze large datasets, apply statistical methods, and develop visualization tools to interpret and present scientific results clearly and effectively. Collaborate with Research Teams: Work closely with scientists, engineers, and other researchers to understand their computational needs and translate them into effective software solutions. Optimize Computational Efficiency: Continuously optimize and refactor code for performance improvements, ensuring that simulations and computations run efficiently on various computing platforms. Software Development and Maintenance: Lead the development and maintenance of software tools, libraries, and frameworks used in scientific computing, ensuring that they meet the needs of the research community. Ensure Reproducibility and Reliability: Design workflows that ensure reproducibility of results, proper documentation, and robust error handling in scientific computations. Manage Large-Scale Data: Develop solutions for managing, processing, and storing large-scale scientific data, ensuring its integrity, accessibility, and compliance with research standards. Mentor and Train Junior Engineers: Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers, sharing expertise in computational techniques, programming practices, and performance optimization.   Qualifications

Preferred

Master’s or Ph.D. in Computational Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field. Strong foundational knowledge in applied mathematics, numerical methods, and scientific computation. 5+ years of experience in scientific computing, with expertise in developing high-performance simulations and algorithms. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Fortran, and MATLAB. Certified High-Performance Computing Professional (CHPCP) Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) Previous Federal Consulting Experience About Us
