Job Description
Support the enablement of AbbVie’s Pipeline for Combination Product Development and Drug Delivery as a technical project manager in the global organization. The Project Manager (PM) works independently with the cross-functional team to lead development projects and area goals. Generate project timeline and proposals and lead those efforts. Act as the lead scientific engineering project manager for area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant regulatory requirements and integrate this into development programs. The project manager ensures compliance with all relevant AbbVie policies, procedures and objectives. The PM manages supplier and business partner interfaces to ensure the business partners achieve efficient and effective deliverables. The project manager provides solutions-based expertise both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage the execution of project(s) across the CPD-DD organization and align cross-functional resources.
+ Develop realistic cross functional project plans with input from other functions, e.g., Quality and Regulatory.
+ Utilize the relevant project management tools for project planning, monitoring, and reporting to maintain project budgets and timelines.
+ Demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise.
+ Proactively seek out new information in the literature and project management best practices and incorporate this into individual project(s) as well as the overall program.
+ Seize opportunities to pursue project relevant leads that are in line with the group’s strategy.
+ Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
+ May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
+ Set project milestones and report progress accordingly. Provide project management support for and guide the efforts of third-party organizations (suppliers, contractors, etc.) to enable achievement of shared milestones.
+ Demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and aligning with the project technical lead.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 12 years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, PhD and typically 4 years of experience.
+ Degree in Engineering / Science or related discipline: Advanced business degree is benefit. PMI certification is desirable.
+ Knowledge and working experience with medical device / combination products required inclusive of design controls.
+ Proficient in project management practices, portfolio review, and budgeting.
+ High level of competence with Microsoft packages including Microsoft Project.
+ Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline.
+ Effective writer and communicator of research or other regulatory materials and project timelines and risks.
+ Broad and diverse cross-functional experience within a matrixed environment.
+ Ability to think strategically and creatively.
+ Ability to establish and maintain credibility as a leader.

+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
