The Opportunity:

The Scientific Partner (SP) is a key strategic leadership role requiring therapeutic area expertise to develop the medical components of the integrated strategy for specific disease areas (and related assets/services) to ensure fast access with better outcomes for more patients. 

The SP works in collaboration with the disease area partners (DAPs) and other key stakeholders inside of the organization to develop, implement and adjust strategic and tactical plans. The SP also leverages external stakeholder generated insights/needs.

The SP connects the affiliate needs within the broader Roche ecosystem (ie. Global, other affiliates) to contribute to the development of broader medical strategic objectives to deliver on evidence generation, knowledge exchange / data communications, and to collaboratively set the evidence generation strategy and tactical execution plan with scientific liaisons (SL).

The SP establishes strong partnerships with medical thought leaders, investigators, authors, and internal cross-functional stakeholders.

The SP is an innovative thinker that brings a wealth of experience in all things related to medical brand and or diagnostic tool management.

While you may bring specialized and in-depth experience within a particular technical or disease area to the team, you are also comfortable expanding that knowledge into adjacent areas as required as our priorities evolve. This role requires constant learning, the regular use of originality and ingenuity

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Works within the cross functional core team, in close collaboration with the DANL and DAPs, to develop the medical components of the overall local medical strategy for a given disease area (and related assets/services) leveraging external stakeholder generated insights/needs to ensure fast access with better outcomes for more patients.

Leverages the broader medical network of capabilities (eg. other SLs, field medical leads, and others) to execute medical plans with excellence 

The medical strategy plan includes: 

EXTERNAL INSIGHTS: designs advisory boards and other external insights activities to gather external stakeholder feedback and input 

EVIDENCE GENERATION AND PUBLICATION: identifies and prioritizes local evidence gaps and  designs evidence solutions across life cycle to meet diverse stakeholder needs (including but not limited to, regulatory, access, laboratory and clinical stakeholders); 

EDUCATION: understands external stakeholder educational and knowledge gaps, designs and develops relevant educational tools, materials and programs that have a high impact for patient care, while creating efficiencies for Roche MSA, reducing the need for travel and onsite delivery.

SCIENTIFIC EXCHANGE: Provides strategic guidance and works collaboratively to define the local field plan for field partners and scientific liaisons, or other relevant field based roles that takes into account the external stakeholder generated needs/insights

Translates statistically-sound scientific evidence into relevant insights and ensures the integrity and accuracy of internal and external communications.

Provide strategic input to global stakeholders to ensure a complementary and aligned evidence generation portfolio at all stages of the product life cycle.

Builds external stakeholders collaboration and academic network (i.e. collaborative groups and academic organizations).

Identifies opportunities for cross-functional cooperation to maximize utilization of resources.

Acts as a coach and mentor for colleagues and peers to develop skills, expertise 

Supports the creation of an inspiring team environment with agile, open, and inclusive culture 

Must maintain knowledge of applicable research and literatur

May respond to unsolicited requests for information about unapproved products or uses, or off-label information.

 

Who you are:

Bachelors Level Degree in Science + 7 years relevant work experience OR

Masters Level Degree in Science + 5 years previously relevant related experience OR

Doctorate Level Degree + 3 years of relevant work experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in strategic roles 

Experience in working with business leaders, clinicians, and regulatory authorities

Knowledge of and compliance with laws and regulations, policies and procedures, guidelines for data dissemination and interactions with healthcare professionals

Knowledge of diagnostic laboratory techniques and advanced skills in interpreting scientific/clinical data and in developing quality publications

Ability to understand, interpret and present a wide range of scientific and medical topics

Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation, lecture, and teaching skills

Experience effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously in a timely and cost-efficient manner

Advanced computer skills 

Familiar with Roche Diagnostics products

This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States.

Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis, IN is $123,700.00 - $229,700.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
